Top notch workmanship! They replaced all of the French doors on my Victorian property back in September. They did such a great job on that that I had them back out to replace some windows at the rear as well. They managed to fit it all in prior to Christmas as promised. Many thanks team Greenwood Joinery Ltd! Have a prosperous 2025!

Initially did a great job but one window had the glass put in wrong and has fogged up, they are supposed to be replacing it but now don’t answer the phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our wooden sash windows, from their customisation and installation to maintenance and heritage compliance.

While the initial cost of walk-on glass floors may appear high, they provide significant benefits in terms of value and durability, making them a smart investment for both homeowners and businesses.

What you’re paying for goes beyond just visual appeal. They certainly add a touch of luxury, creating an open and high-end feel, but that’s only the beginning of the value they offer. Unlike wood or carpet flooring, glass floors are built to endure years of use without exhibiting signs of wear.

A common concern when considering a glass floor is how easy it will be to maintain. The good news is that glass floors are fairly low-maintenance compared to traditional flooring options. As glass is non-porous, it doesn’t trap dirt, dust, or moisture, making it less prone to staining or collecting bacteria.

You won’t need special cleaning products either. To keep your glass floor gleaming, simply use a soft cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Just be cautious with harsh chemicals that could damage the surface.

In short: no, they don’t break easily. A common myth is that walk-on glass floors can easily crack under heavy weight or pressure. In reality, they are built to be incredibly strong and durable, making them just as safe to walk on as concrete.

Typically made from tempered or laminated glass, they are much sturdier than regular glass and can handle heavy foot traffic as well as large furniture. Tempered glass is up to four times stronger than standard glass due to the heat treatment process that enhances its strength and impact resistance.

For extra peace of mind, our walk-on glass floors are made from three layers, bonded together to form an extremely strong barrier. In the unlikely event of extreme pressure, it won’t shatter entirely – the worst-case scenario is that one layer may break, but the floor will maintain its structure and keep you safe.

Yes, glass floors can scratch, just like any other surface. However, they are engineered to be highly durable and resistant to most everyday scratches. Walk-on glass floors undergo extensive testing to ensure they can withstand regular use. In most cases, they remain scratch-free unless something sharp, like metal or stone, is dragged across them. Even if scratching occurs, the damage is usually not permanent; maintenance teams are equipped to repair minor issues if needed.

Glass floors can be a stunning feature in the right home, and in some instances, they may increase the value of a property. If you live in an area where buyers value unique, contemporary designs, a glass floor could serve as an impressive selling point. A thoughtfully designed glass floor can amplify the feeling of space and light in a room, creating a dramatic impact that many prospective buyers will find attractive.
