Top notch workmanship! They replaced all of the French doors on my Victorian property back in September. They did such a great job on that that I had them back out to replace some windows at the rear as well. They managed to fit it all in prior to Christmas as promised. Many thanks team Greenwood Joinery Ltd! Have a prosperous 2025!

Initially did a great job but one window had the glass put in wrong and has fogged up, they are supposed to be replacing it but now don’t answer the phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our wooden sash windows, from their customisation and installation to maintenance and heritage compliance.

The price can vary based on several factors, so there isn’t a straightforward answer. Aluminium bifold doors generally come at a higher cost than uPVC models. The size of the doors, the number of panels, the type of glazing (single, double, or triple glazed), and the materials used for the frames all play a role in determining the price, along with other considerations.

It’s a good idea to explore different styles and designs, then compare prices for the various types of bifold doors. This will give you an idea of what fits your budget and whether you can opt for triple glazing. Additionally, you can evaluate the cost of aluminium, wooden, or composite frames.

Consult with the professionals at Bifold Shop to receive a personalized quote for your ideal aluminium bifold doors and get a price tailored to your exact needs. They can also provide answers to any questions you have and offer suggestions you may not have thought of for your home.

Fitting smaller bifold doors into an existing opening is a fairly straightforward job, but the process can become more complex if you’re expanding the space by removing walls to install aluminium bifold doors. Installing bifold doors properly requires some expertise, and the general steps are as follows.

Prepare the opening: First, you’ll need to make sure the opening is ready for your bifold doors and that it matches the size of the ordered frames. In some cases, you might need to enlarge the opening by removing brickwork to ensure the frame fits properly.

If you notice that your aluminium bifold doors are not moving smoothly, you may need to make some adjustments. Start by opening and closing the doors to pinpoint where the issue lies. If the door is binding against the jamb or isn’t sitting properly in the opening, horizontal adjustment may be necessary.

Using an Allen key, you can adjust the hinges at the sill or threshold of the bifold doors. Additionally, you may need to tweak the hinges along the tracks if needed. It may take some trial and error, but continue adjusting and testing the doors until they move smoothly.

Installing aluminium bifold doors in your home is a fantastic way to enhance natural light and create a stunning open space when they’re fully opened. In some homes, installing these doors can essentially open up an entire corner, dramatically transforming the look and feel of the property.

Bifold doors operate on the concertina principle, similar to the action of an accordion’s bellows. The sliding panels move along a track, allowing the windows to rotate 90 degrees and slide to one side, which opens up a large portion of your home to the outdoors.

It’s a common misconception that the ease of opening and closing bifold doors makes them vulnerable to burglars, but that’s not the case. While a standard garden back door might be easily forced open with basic tools, high-quality bifold doors made from wood, composite, or aluminium are much more secure and difficult for intruders to break into. These doors can significantly enhance the security of your home.

The need for planning permission to install bifold doors will depend on several factors. You may need to consult with your local planning office if you’re planning a large extension with bifolding doors, installing them on a newly built property, changing the use of the building, or if it’s the first time bifold doors are being installed at the property.
