Top notch workmanship! They replaced all of the French doors on my Victorian property back in September. They did such a great job on that that I had them back out to replace some windows at the rear as well. They managed to fit it all in prior to Christmas as promised. Many thanks team Greenwood Joinery Ltd! Have a prosperous 2025!

Initially did a great job but one window had the glass put in wrong and has fogged up, they are supposed to be replacing it but now don’t answer the phone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our wooden sash windows, from their customisation and installation to maintenance and heritage compliance.

Double-glazed sash windows are a great option for conservation areas or homeowners who want to preserve the charm of a period property. You can choose between an authentic timber sash appearance or a low-maintenance uPVC alternative, available in woodgrain finishes.

Before replacing sash windows with casement windows, it’s important to check with your local authority. In certain cases, such as living in a conservation area or a listed building, replacing sash windows with modern casement windows may not be allowed, or you might need to apply for planning permission. Consider your local surroundings as well, ensuring that any changes you make align with the style of your neighborhood. Additionally, think about whether replacing sash windows with casement windows could affect the property’s appeal to future buyers.

uPVC windows typically last for at least 20 years. However, with proper maintenance and depending on various factors, some windows can last significantly longer.

If you live in a conservation area, it’s important to consult your local planning office regarding any restrictions on window replacement. There may also be specific conditions outlined in your property deeds.

Typically, any alterations to a building’s structure in a conservation area must be made using the same materials, including windows.

For example, if you have timber sash windows, they generally must be replaced with timber sash windows.

Since local planning offices may have different regulations, always check with them to understand what changes are permissible.

A standard white uPVC casement window is typically the most cost-effective choice, ranging from £600 to £1,800. The final cost depends on factors such as window size, glazing design, and the number of windows being replaced in the property. Please note that these are average price estimates, and the actual cost of replacing windows in your home may vary.
